Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The crust is thicker than it used to be. I miss the thinner crust but the sauce, cheese and toppings are still top notch. I asked for extra basil on my 'Grandma Fi Fi's' and they put tons on which was awesome. Great service from our waitress, a Billie Piper (Rose, from Dr. Who) look alike. Can't complain about that!

I really wish this place was closer to my house. I'd eat here every day if I could. I drive past this place a lot, since I'm always on my way to and from Yellow Rose Tattoos. I finally decided to stop in the other day, after getting another tattoo. I ordered two slices of their vegetarian pizza, which has tomato's and garlic on top. Let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. The crust was thin, the cheese was delicious, and the garlic added the perfect touch to the pizza. I normally will not eat tomato's, but Este Pizza got me to eat my vegetables. The environment is also pretty cool in the place. All of the walls have graffiti on them, and there are stickers on most of the booths. It feels like a pizza place that you would visit while on vacation in California. Their dining situation is a little odd. Before 4:00 PM, you can seat yourself and order slices from certain pizzas. After 4:00Pm, the place apparently turns into a sit down restaurant. I am not sure how things work after that, but I do plan to return and find that out. All in all, I really enjoyed my pizza, and I plan on stopping in whenever I am in the area.

Este is something special. They serve up some of the best New York style pizza outside of New York, and on the other side of the country. Este is one of the few places in SLC that you can grab just a slice for a good price, and they've always got deals so that a trip to Este never hurts your wallet. The restaurant's rotating specials are always interesting and delicious, but they do skimp on a plain pie, either. The Sugarhouse location's decor is also appearing - it has a cool urban industrial feel that's distinctive and comfortable.

Great Pizza!!! So the fad right now is the Neapolitan pizza, but Este's New York style pizza is so much better. It's even better than some of the other New York style pizza places in town. Why you ask? Well, their crust is thin and crisp and not burnt in places nor is it flimsy. I'm not saying all the other places are like this, but Este is consistent. Their toppings and sauce taste great as well. I do have to say that the lasagna pizza was better than the bbq chicken. The chicken was just slightly dry and some other toppings like cilantro and stuff might have helped enhanced the flavors. I can't say if the lasagna pizza is their best since I haven't tried their other pizzas yet. Customer service was great. Our waitress was actually funny/intuitive. I had the dessert side of the menu faced up and she was like, " I see you have the dessert menu up, would you like to order a dessert?" This is one pizza place that I will definitely come back to.

I've been to Estes several times for pizza and always liked it. There are other things on the menu, but they were always afterthoughts to me. One day though, I talked to the manager when I went in and she recommended stromboli. It's like a giant pizza empanada. I thought it would be too much crust and not as good as just a regular pizza, but I LOVED it. I've had it 3 times now. I did mine with sausage, banana peppers and basil, which I recommend to anyone. The staff is also really nice, the vibe is good, and the decor is really unique. One of these days I'll throw down some quarters to play NBA jam like the good old days, but for now I'll just enjoy my stromboli.

This place has gone downhill FAST. Tonight We just picked up the worst tasteless undercooked pizza I've ever had. Besides a frozen Totinos. No sauce, at all. None. Dough cold. Veggies raw. Raw. And cold. Cheese undercooked. New management? New cooks? Don't care. I won't be back.

I'm getting very protective with my stars lately. Which is unfortunate because Este could easily be a 5 star joint, but I don't think it's fair to other pizza establishments to give them a 5 star rating as it stands. Perhaps our semi poor service stemmed from looking like typical alternative hipsters that evening. My husband and I had the day off so we were dripping in skinny jeans, blackcraft hoodies (hoods up of course) and anti-religion t-shirts. I think when people see us they assume that we won't care what kind of service we get or that it's ok to be 100% casual and unprofessional. Or maybe the hipster high school drop outs they hire simply can't muster the will to be efficient. The waitress ignored us a few times for an annoying table of needy douche bags. Which is fine. And it took 40 minutes to get a pizza on a slow night. Again, fine (but ridiculous, pizza stays in an oven for about 20 minutes). And I was completely under whelmed by the end result. Pizza was soggy and not hot. My husband did have a great experience here once before with his tattoo artist and they said the pizza was awesome and the service was great so I won't completely discount their ability to provide a service worthy of my repeat business. But as it stands I will continue looking for MY favorite pizza place.
(3)Felix B.
Pizza was good, but definitely not anything special. Very cheesy. Service was friendly. Price was a bit on the expensive side. Honestly nothing stood out to me as being fantastic, just overall decent.
(3)Cheyenne S.
I keep trying to like this location but I'm at the point that I'm offended it's even uses the name Este. The company should be ashamed of themselves for letting such a horrible pizza be in the este family. PC and downtown are the originals don't let this one fool. HEY REAL ESTE PIZZA CO MAKE THIS LOCATION CHANGE ITS NAME.
(1)Alana A.
The pizza is great. In fact it's one of my favorites ..but the service here is so awful, it seems as if every employee is miserable. I frequent the place at lunch and have never been cheerfully greeted or smiled at by an employee once. It feels as if they are annoyed to be open and serving the public. Too bad because I'd eat here way more often if I felt welcome.
(2)Kish M.
First, I want to thank the Yelp community for leading me to Este Pizza because it has become my favorite SLC pizza joint. It's not hard to find pizza in SLC but it is a little difficult to find really good pizza so I was ecstatic on my first visit to Este Pizza, this is really good pizza. Before I discovered Este I would frequent The Pie, or Rusted Sun, or even Free Wheelers but know that I have found Este the others really are just a second option if I am not able to make it to Este. What you may ask separates Este from the others, it is the crust my dear friends, it is the crust!!! The toppings are always fresh, they have some great specialty pizzas, they are always cooked well, but trust me when I say that this is how pizza crust was intended to be. In addition to the pizzas they also offer wings that are above average on their own and an assortment of other menu options but for me, it is all about the incredible pizza and the divine crust that holds it all together. Try Este Pizza, you will not be disappointed in the food!! Remember, this is a review of the food, the service has not been great the couple of times that I have gone but I am not writing a review about the service, I am writing about the pizza and the pizza is amazing!!! Until next time fellow Yelpers ............................ Be Local, Live Local, and whenever possible ........................ BUY Local!!!!!

Fantastic pizza, great speciality pies. A little pricy. like Grandma Phi-phi, it is an awesome margarita style pie. Good for take out. It truly is Brooklyn style, "nyc meets SLC" is their motto. Good art, good pizza and fun garlic knots. This place has great food. Their service is hit or miss, I'm all about great service. If it wasn't so weird this would be a five star place. I still go here every Friday for take out.
(4)Kenny H.
It's ok, I'm not quite sure why there is so much praise. Living in Newark and working in Manhattan and being a fat ass... I've eaten slices all over the Burroughs and Este's is decent but nothing to write home about. I do however like choices and their ever changing daily slice offering is nifty but since I've moved and I'm no longer 2 blocks away I doubt I'll ever return. On a side note I hate places that serve ghetto Parmesan cheese which this place does. Parm should be pure but theirs isn't theirs either has Cellulose Powder or Potassium Sorbate. Typically used for clumping reasons but it effects the taste.
(3)Marissa C.
I appreciate they have the single slices & cold brewskies. I'm not a huge pizza fanatic and their pizza doesn't speak to me. It's fresher than most but I would only come here when it's a last resort and I with friends and we're nowhere near Rusted Sun. In fact, I haven't been here since discovering Rusted. But hey, if you're across the street from Johnnys (2nd & 2nd) its a fine bet.
(2)Mat A.
This is one of those Sugarhouse gems that everyone needs to know about. We have been going to Este for years, and have always has a great experience. The pizza is freshly made, and doesn't taste anything like what most of us are used to pizza tasting like (insert pizza chain name here.) We would come on the weekends in their old location for a slice and stayed to enjoy the local musicians that often played there. Make sure you get the garlic knots to go along with your pizza. My two favorite pies there are the Green Veggie pizza and The Clay. Good stuff!
(4)Garret N.
Pretty decent pizza. Made it quick and without too much fuss.
(3)Jewel S.
Best pizza in town no contest! They will even deliver it and that's worth the wait. Their crust is so thin and they don't overload it with toppings. The service is great too. It's so good that I find myself ordering it once a week. It's also fun to just pop in for a beer and a slice. I'm not really a pizza person. But they have converted me. Good f&$#ing pizza
(5)David B.
Este Pizza is a relic of time when SLC had no other good New York style pizza options. They only offer a couple by-the-slice options, and their full pies are very expensive. Most people I know eat here only out of sheer convenience of location and not because of quality or good service. If you have to eat here, go with a side salad as it's going to be much better than their pizza. Once, a group of about 15 friends ordered and paid for slices. After we all ordered, on employee told us the oven stopped working. They brought us out horrible under-cooked pizza and didn't offer a discount or even apologize. We agreed never to return and that it was one of the worst restaurant experiences of our lives. Let me save you some trouble- just go to Pie Hole just down the street It's close and much much better.
(2)Jessica S.
Num num num num pizza! I a traditionalist and go for the pepperoni. Thin and crisp and soaked with cheese and more cheese. Paired with a ghost rider, may I say, heaven? Our waitress Sam was fast as lightning. Also she told me I was pretty. I'll take it where I can get it. Call me the terminator cause I'll be back.
(5)Caitlin S.
This place blew my mind. The best NY style pizza I've ever had. Big slices, chill atmosphere, tastes AMAZING. Try it try it!
(5)Lance E.
Awesome, big slices, good price. I'll take my family back here for sure. I'm not a big fan of going out for pizza because there aren't really that many to go to.
(5)Jamie L.
I always enjoy this place... Whether I order online or go in and enjoy the music and atmosphere! The food is always great, with a wide variety of slices/entire pies!! The POW (pizza of the week) is always worth a try! Local brews to go along with my pizza.... Love it here, including the beer :) Don't forget the lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for $5... Can't beat it!
(5)Laurel S.
I love pizza. Like, I LOVE pizza! Unfortunately, it's difficult/ impossible to get the same quality of pizza delivered as you can get fresh out of the oven, and further, to get top notch, organic ingredients is basically unheard of. That being said, Este was great, but far from perfect. Our delivery arrived a few minutes late and the pizza was warm. Nothing 30 seconds in the microwave couldn't fix, but I like my pizza hot out of the box (maybe I'm being picky). We ordered the White and The Vortman. Ingredients and flavor were definitely WAY better than your average pizza delivery and I'd say it's the best Sugarhouse delivery, with a nice, thin, light crust (in my experience, to date). Not a huge fan of the mozzarella sticks, but that's probably because fried foods just aren't my thing. Way better customer service than Wasatch Pizza so that's a huge plus! I'll definitely give them another shot! @growingfourlife

This Neapolitan delight will not let you down. Come eat, enjoy. The comfortable atmosphere is great with friends or grab some of their goodies to go! All the flavs are my favs. Though more pricey than others in the area, do everyone a favor and try out once, you'll know how to reward yourself from then on.
(5)Nita W.
Excellent thin crust pizza. Sauce is fantastic. Weekly variations are interesting and excellent. April Fools day Hawaiin is a classic. Have not found, anywhere, a pizza that compares in quality and consistency. The wings are also outstanding.
(5)Anita C.
Not bad, but not great either. Tried the garlic knots- KNOT making that mistake again. Super hard on the outside and way too doughy on the inside, no flavor either and served on a heaping plate of oil. Ordered the Italian flag. Overall, I would say it was bland. The pesto was nothing spectacular and there wasn't enough ricotta on the pizza. Crust wasn't bad though, but it was a little too burnt in some places. Unfortunately not much else to say, maybe it was one of their "off" nights.
(3)Val D.
Este seems to be the hot spot to go for pizza. Located conveniently across from bar x, Johnny's, and the beer bar, you can quiet those alcohol munchies with a filling slice of pizza. The crust is a touch thicker than the average NYC pie, but the slight tang of the sauce combined with the perfect proportion of cheese make this pizza worth your time and money. If you're downtown looking for a place to eat, try Este!
(4)Kory H.
we got a half vortman half grandma fifis and the vortman was amazing! highly recommend. grandma fifis was just a modified cheese pizza; good, but nothing to do backflips over (i dont think it should be a specialty) but all around amazing pizza. i think the pizza is worth 5 stars but the service was kinda bad. the staff is standoffish. two girls specifically were incredibly rude. my opinion of the staff lowered my overall opinion of este but like i said, the pizza saved it!!!
(3)Lizzie W.
Four stars for four reasons: 1. The restaurant itself is clean and sizable. They have utilized the space nicely, without compromising the "personal bubble" of the patrons. The high ceilings and large windows make the inside feel bright and open, permeating a relaxed and casual vibe. 2. They have an impressive variety of pizza. While the vast majority of the menu is made to order as "whole pies", Este offers "by the slice options" for diners. Este can feed vegetarians, meat eaters and vegans alike. During my visit, I tried the plain cheese pizza and a veggie slice. Which leads me to my next point: 3. The pizza tastes and looks fresh. Este's crust is substantial but not overly heavy. It's flavorful without being unnecessarily greasy. It's pizza that doesn't automatically leave you feeling lethargic, which for the most part is what I prefer. Those who I ate with had the pepperoni pizza and a vegan version of stromboli, both of which they very much enjoyed. We were all unanimously satisfied with our food. 4. The prices are actually quite reasonable. They reflect the quality of the food, without being unrealistically expensive. They also have free delivery to the Sugarhouse area, which is another great incentive for me to become a frequent customer. Not the best pizza I've had, by any means, but pretty decent for a local joint with good prices and a comfortable/clean atmosphere. A nice change from the traditional dominoes/pizza hut variety.
(4)Bud H.
I really like the pizza at this place and I really like the new location. As for the pizza, the crust is thin, has a nice cripsy-chewy ratio, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. As for the space, it's much larger than the old location and always has nice tunes playing in the background. I also enjoy that they've added a "lunch special" to the menu. Basically two slices of whatever they've dreamt up that day and a drink for about $6.00. And their concoctions are usually spot on (in addition to the tried and true). Definitely the best pizza place in the area.
(4)Dawn W.
Pizza is one of those places that's hard to review because everyone has their ideas on how pizza is SUPPOSED to be. I fall in the thick crust deep dish camp SO I'm harsher on Este than most. Service seems to take a bit sometimes, but it is delish and I like the by the slice option. Dr. Pepper on tap. :) (Everyone should offer that, but I digress.) This is a go to for us. Just wish they delivered to Millcreek.
(3)Leodan L.
Went there last night with a friend for a second time ever, service was good very quick for the most part they are a bit slow when waiting for the order to come out and the waiter forgot our dessert but he apologized and gave us a discount so it was forgiven
(4)Chad J.
Meh. Crust is boring, and there's lots of it. Maybe this place was over-hyped, but I was underwhelmed. Este does have a fun atomosphere and great beer selection though, so I won't rule out a return trip.
(3)D. W.
Inside, they've changed the interior dramatically from the old Boardwalk pizza it formerly housed. What was once a fairly wide open place is cut approximately in half to wall off what I'm assuming is space needed for the delivery side of things. Inside is wall to wall graffiti and the booths are littered with random stickers, sorta reminiscent of a very destroyed building that some of the local bands used to (and maybe still do) put on impromptu concerts. This essentially winds up being a hipster pizza place. My wife got a kick out of the interior, I thought the addition of the wall made it a bit closed in, but got a kick out of what remnants of Boardwalk they left, like the pizza playing NFL games... They also don't have waiter service during the day, I guess. This is probably due to being less busy during those times, but I think they could have splurged and kept at least one on for the people there. Ordering at the counter I can forgive, if the food backs it up, but that got off to a bit of a rough start by having an excellent selection of beers but no milk for the kid. So, if you're going, don't bring your children, unless you want them to have fountain drinks. The garlic knots...I really liked the interior, which were a bit stretchy and doughy, but I didn't like the marinara or the exterior, which was an odd blend of very bland and pretzel-ish, somehow or the stuff topping the knots, which I couldn't quite determine. Their ranch is evidently made by the same people who supply all the Greek hamburger restaurants (Crown, Apollo, etc.), but this one tasted a touch stale. We got a meat pizza, but there was a very off taste to it. I pulled one piece completely apart and tested all the components separately. Their sausage and meatballs are excellent, pepperoni and ham were ok, but nothing especially exciting. Same for the cheese. The sauce itself is a bit bland, which the pizza was also, overall. that left the crust. The top part of the crust was fine, albeit a bit dull, but when I folded it in half, New York style, I found the problem. The entire bottom of the pizza had either been cooked in or the bowl the dough was in had some sort of off-flavor. My wife thought it tasted chemically, somewhat reminiscent of bleach or a similar cleaner. No idea what it was and it didn't dominate the pizza flavoring, but definitely decreased the experience. Assuming the crust wouldn't have that problem, it still is a pizza that needs toppings, which you can add yourself with oregano, garlic, dried pepper flakes (these are not spicy at all, btw) and cheese shakers on all the tables. Maybe that's what they were going for, but when we went in, the burning question was whether or not this place was competition for The Pie. Not, definitely not. Both The Pie and Rusted Sun are still safe as #s 1 & 2, respectively, for best pizza in Salt Lake.
(3)Amy U.
We ordered take out from here tonight, spent almost $70 and were very disappointed. The bbq chicken pizza was awful and tasted as though someone had poured hot sauce all over the top of it. The grandma phi phis was edible but the crust was lousy and the sauce was tasteless. We ordered two salads which we only received one of, but it tasted fine. And the mozzarella sticks were fine but weren't anything that you couldn't buy in the frozen section of the grocery store.

Worst customer service experience I've had in Sugarhouse to date. I was searching for delivery and thought I'd give this place a shot. I nearly instantly regretted my decision. I placed my order online and realized that I had not selected delivery. Normally that's not a big deal so I called up to make the adjustment. First time I called I was immediately placed on hold. I waited for 10 minutes and hung up and redialed. This time my call was actually taken and I was informed that I couldn't switch it to delivery but I could call a different company to have my purchase refunded and place a new order for delivery. My order had totaled $50 already so there was no way that was an option, the manager then got on the line and explained that the company they use for online orders is a different system than theirs so nothing could be done. I hung up and tried to find a way to pick it up myself with no luck and had to call yet again to cancel. The same girl answered the phone in such a rushed way I couldn't understand a word she said. I wound up talking to the manager again and expressed my displeasure at the whole experience to which she replied "I'm sorry, nothing can be done" in a tone that seemed to imply that I was wasting her time. I then called the outside company to get my order canceled and refunded. What a joke. I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone nor will I be giving them a second chance. The manner my complaint was dealt with disgusted me to the point where it actually killed my appetite. At the end of the day I feel that With their service and prices they don't care about customers at all. I'm just glad I got refunded because wasting $50 here would be regrettable.

We visit Este Pizza whenever we can (or whenever I fall of the Paleo wagon) and we love it. The quaint, cafe atmosphere accentuated with the small cup wine service, and the "very cool" cross-genre art on the walls (go and see what I mean - it defies description) all support the combination of care and casual with which they make their amazing food. Try the Garlic Knots and you'll never look back. Or if you're missing the "big city" living in SL, UT, try the NYC Supreme. We love it. Thanks for being a part of the landscape, Este Pizza. You make a difference!
(5)Kelly K.
First off, I should say that I'm an addict to this place. However! I don't understand the rave reviews about the garlic knots, and depending on whose in the kitchen, Do Not order too many veggies in a calzone/Stromboli or it will be very fluid filled that is a burning level hot... BUT with the right ingredients (Stromboli with ricotta, spinach, ham is my favorite) and you'll be a regular too ;)
(5)Oscar O.
Giving a low review because this used to be incredible pizza. I am from the east cost and a few years ago this would have been a good pizza even in nyc. Now it is only ok, but not near what it used to be. I have tried quite a bit recently, just isnt as good.
(3)Kimberly J.
Showed up on a Friday night after a hike and was seated promptly. Good waitress had a beer and ordered the flag pizza Good flavor and decent wait time for the pizza The crust was not my fav but the sauces and flavors made it a 4 star (I like extra thin crust) Over all We would go back Nice place to sit down and have a good pie
(4)Alex S.
Well well well... end dramatic review. To put it pretty simple the pizza is good, the prices are outrageous in comparison to the quality of pizza. I guess they have a cool little lunch special or something? maybe do that instead of getting an entire pizza. I ordered the pink pizza (most of their pizzas dont come with toppings you add them on for extra). Put pepperoni on because... anymore toppings and I would be filling with 50 cent for bankruptcy (I'm topical). And then you eat the pizza (ps the box is too small to hold their pizza which isnt a big deal just a little more disappointment). The sauce was delicious, the pepperoni was... ehhh. And the crust was kind of just there as filler. I was more than a little sad. THE VERDICT: the good news... pizza is in abundance in SLC so you don't really need to be worried this is your only choice. Go get some delish pizza elsewhere and enjoy your stay/life in SLC. I was tricked... do not make the same mistake i did.
(2)Alethea G.
I've been to Este's a few times. I'm from New York and it's hard to find good pizza in Utah. I do enjoy Este's pizza, especially the regular cheese slice. Today we went in for dinner at 6:20pm. There was no wait. It was not very busy. There were two waiters for the establishment and two bus boys/girls. Our waitress was nice. She accidentally brought two pepperoni slices instead of cheese for my boyfriend but she got the correct order pretty promptly. We ordered the Garlic Knots and Pizza Slices. The garlic knots were pretty good, lacking salt. The pepperoni pizza tasted generic. I really love the plain cheese pizza. I've also had their BBQ pizza before and it is expensive but very yummy. Our bill was $16 dollars. Very cheap. I will come back here.

If you are thirsty and it happens to be Thursday then get to Este for Thirsty Thursdays pronto. $2 Pints, $4 Steins and $8 pitchers of draft beer all damn day. Met up after work with some colleagues so we could get the think tank going. Nothing like a few pints to get the juices flowing. I do love me some Este and the new location is bigger and badder then ever. This place meets all criteria for my East Coast style pizza checklist. They do it right with a thin crispy crust and not too much cheese. This place has high quality toppings and ingredients. After some beers and collaborating we needed sustenance. We ordered the sausage and roasted red pepper specialty pizza, which was topped with fresh chopped basil. It was a perfect combo. The service here was fantastic and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Our drinks were never empty and they even rewarded the group for their Thursday night loyalty with some free zeppoles for dessert. Cinnamon sugar coated dough-balls served with some cannoli filling. Not bad!

I have to say, the best PIE ever! The customer service is over the top and they have exceeded my expectations with not only the food, but the people, Katy, has awesome customer service skills and makes sure your order is right!
(5)Chad G.
Great New York style pizza! Great for a quick and easy lunch! Really well priced, and the new location is great!!!
(5)Lil M.
Good old pepperoni is my favorite but try the lasagna pie. And this is the best pizza I've ever had leftover and warmed up.
(5)Ayla K.
Very good pizza. We eat here often, and get take-out both for home and work. Good beer selection too.
(4)michelle m.
I cannot complain. Came here for the first time yesterday and am so pleased with my decision. Every day they offer a lunch special-2 (HUGE!) slices of pizza and a drink for $5. I got pepperoni and the pizza of the week which was mango unchained. The mango unchained had pulled pork from sugarhouse BBQ, mango pieces, and BBQ sauce. I was skeptical. Hence the pepperoni. I decided to eat the mango first, lest my taste buds be assaulted-I had a backup to wash away the misery. First bite: holy. shit. I immediately regretted not getting 2. My taste buds were elated. That's some good ass pizza. Sweet, but not overbearingly so, the pork was stellar and perfectly cooked, the mango was a delicate touch. Love. The pepperoni was good-big, abundant slices. The crust is perfect in thickness and texture. When you fold it, it's a nice, harmonious cradle of cheesy, saucy, porky goodness. Grease will inevitably drip down your arm. You won't care. Eat este and be merry.

We came here on a Friday night. We expected to wait but not for 15 minutes at our table before a waiter even came by to take our drink order! I had no idea it was possible to make onion rings awful! They were warm but rubbery, almost like someone reheated them in a microwave! The vegan white pizza has REALLY gone down In quality since they moved. They have fifteen 20-somethings working there and no one is doing their job. They got our calzone order wrong too but no one stopped by to even check on us to see if our order was okay. Awful! I will never go back. I'm sad because it is the only place I could find a vegan pizza! :(

This place used to be my favorite pizza in Salt Lake so when they moved in down the street from my house I was really excited. I can't speak for the downtown location which may still be good but the Sugarhouse location has gotten progressively worse and worse over the last 8 months. I ordered a single takeout pizza and they told me it would be an hour. Seemed like a long time for a single pizza I was picking up myself but what earned them one star was the fact that when I showed up on time and asked for my pizza the pizza still hadn't been made, so the whipped it out in about 15 min, but by this time I was paying a premium price for a pizza that took an hour and 15 min to pick up myself. It also seems poorly managed because I've been there a number of tes to pick up pizza or dine in and stood in the entry way while I counted 3 or 4 employees stand around talking to each other, ignoring me, until finally someone will come help me. The pizza used to be great but is now just ok. Too bad, I really used to like this place.

One of best pizza spot in Salt Lake City. Always enjoyed this place for grabbing a quick slice of pizza during the lunch time.

Don't let the hype or the look of the food fool you, it's nothing special! We ordered a pizza to go about 30mins before closing and it was not impressive. Very basic and almost tasted like it needed to be cooked longer or something. It seemed as if they don't have the baking technique down. I probably wouldn't go back!

This is one of my favorite pizza joints in SLC. We ordered pizza for take out Sunday when they were super busy. Unfortunately we were hung up on twice. We continued to call because it's that good! There was an hour wait for pick up which we eagerly waited for. When we finally got our pizza it was cold which we were really disappointed about. The owner personally contacted us and apologized plus offered to fully comp the pizza. She also insisted on giving us a discount for our next visit. Talk about great customer service!! This place truly cares about their customers. They get a full 5 stars in my book.

The graffiti artwork in here is so fresh! Great job. Staff was your typical slightly arrogant and bitchy - hipster women types. The kind who hang out at the twilight concerts and farmers markets. Bbq chicken pizza was so damn amazing

Truthfully, I've only ever ordered one item from here because it is sooo good that I don't feel like I can branch out! Almost every other week my boyfriend and I order an Italian Flag pizza with pepperoni on it. Most of the time we order it for pickup, where it is always ready on time and always hot. The few times we've had it delivered (yay for living in the free delivery area!) it has arrived during the delivery window and in perfect condition, definitely worth the good tip we give the friendly delivery folks! If I have one tip, it is to order a side of marinara sauce to dip your crust in. Their crust is too good to just leave on a plate. My only very minor complaint is that sometimes the ladies working the front are a little unfriendly. They aren't rude, just unfriendly. I assume it is due to the stress of working at a busy pizza place on a Friday night!

I like Este Pizza. They have some imaginative and unique specialty pies and their toppings are always fresh and delicious. The crust is really good. Not too thin, but not heavy or doughy. It has a nice texture and flavor. They deliver to my house, which is a big plus, but their prices are pretty high. Be careful about ordering any pizza with "fresh garlic" as one of the toppings. They apply so much of the pungent stuff that it renders the pizza inedible... at least for me. And I really do love garlic. Este isn't my favorite pizza in SLC, but it's definitely top 5 and certainly hits the spot when i'm in the mood for it.

Came here for lunch and the lady at the front was awesome. Even after we ordered at the front and sat down with our food, she came over to ask if everything was good. Good was awesome, and I love that they don't have pineapple in the restaurant. That's real New York pizza! Will definitely come here again

This is pure five stars for many reasons. Este happens to be one of the very first places I ate at in Salt Lake City, so to this day it holds great sentimental value. It's also one of the places I tried "NY Style" for the first time. It turns out all those years of La Pizza Loca didn't count... DANG IT. And so, hear this: Este is a great establishment. I've practically made great friends over the years out of their friendly servers and rebuilt tattered relationships over a very forgiving slice of pizza. I simply love this place. It is the perfect pairing of local and new, with fresh design, and classic recipes. I recommend the garlic knots and a slice of whatever you feel like (the veggie slice is the jam!). It's casual here and I love when they get around to playing some Motown sounds, otherwise Este is a Millennial at heart. Would it hurt to try the wings? Not at all! Probably the most consistent and best tasting in the area! I do wish they had a broader selection of beer, but over time, I've decided to explore the options they do carry. Hashtag proactive. Would be an exaggeration to say the pizza here gives me something to believe in? You don't agree? Well, I do what I want! And so does Este; that's why I keep coming back! Ps, shout out to Dylan for being a rad server every time I'm here. Nice work, great service...Always a plus (and extra star...duh!)!

I really wanted to like Este, with it's great design, fun atmosphere, and, most importantly, it's close proximity to my house. We've driven by so many times and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered what looked like the tastiest item on the menu- the Clay. We meat lovers were drooling over the idea of it. We called in our order and were told that because it was a busy Saturday night, it would be 35 minutes before it was ready. Of course that was fine so we showed up for our pizza about 30 minutes after our call and ran home to ravish it. But unfortunately we were met with disappointment after disappointment. Our pizza was cold, clearly ready long before 35 minutes and had been sitting out on the counter. A quick call to let us know it was done sooner than expected would've sufficed but alas... Even after being reheated in our microwave, the pizza was nothing great. The meat was all rather flavorless, particularly the meatballs that we were so excited for. They were dry and tasted like they'd been sitting out for a few days before being put on our pizza. The crust was tough and boring with absolutely no flavor to it. Unfortunately, Este did not live up to our expectations and we felt like it was a waste of $20. After friends assured us that this was their favorite local pizza place and we needed to give it a second chance, we ordered yet another takeout pizza and were met with the same disappointment. After two strikes, I won't bother giving them my money when I know they'll strike out. To summarize, my husband said "I think I like Dominos better..." So if that doesn't tell you anything I don't know what will!

The only thing I ever eat here are the calzones and garlic knots. Yeeeah, they make kick ass calzones, simple as that.

Dear The Pie Pizzeria, I am sorry. You know i love you. But, I was just in the mood for something new. I love everything about you, but sometimes a thinner, crispy crust just hits the spot. And While I will still keep coming around, maybe we should open up our relationship. Este is a great Pizza Joint, and the three of us, we can survive together. It might be awkward, but we will make it work. Love, Smitty. ========== Ok Seriously. I just wanted to try something new, and I had never had, but had heard great things about Este pizza. Even better. I lived in their delivery area. So I decided what the heck. I will order a 16" NYC Supreme Pizza, Garlic Knots and some Zeppoles. I called up, and expressed my enjoyment that I was on the border of their delivery area. 90 glorious minutes later, my pizza arrived. It was fantastic. The only downside was I asked for Mushrooms and Olives to be on one half of the pizza. No harm, I moved them myself. The Garlic Knots were delicious, they had just the right texture. The Pizza, mind. blowing. Not to Crunchy, not to Soft crust, easy to fold, had a magnificent taste. The toppings were plentiful, including the chopped garlic which was just right for the pie. The Zeppoles were great as well. However I wasn't expecting a pound of them Over all, my wife and I enjoyed this bit of east coast awesome. I would recommend it to anyone, highly.

I live in Ogden alright and whenever my family and I crave pizza we drive all the way to salt lake just for Este. Este is an amazing pizzeria that reminds me of a small pizzeria around Manhattan Beach, California. I can't eat pizza and be happy unless it's from California or Este. The crust is thin and cooked to perfection, the sauce is balanced beautifully, the combination they offer makes me want to go there everyday to try a different slice. You actually have different selection of cheese and meat! These aren't you everyday options, they are choices that you would never thought would work with a pizza but does! If you want to eat pizza and good pizza, head over to Este you won't be disappointed.

Very good NY style pizza probably the best in Utah. My only coming tonight was it looked and felt like a Chuckie cheese. Screaming children everywhere. Hopeful it was a weird night so I got my pizza to go. Friendly helpful service. If it's pizza you want this is the spot.
(5)Greg T.
Great experience - owner checked in with us and made sure everything was great - which it was. Decor was fun, food was great, service was top notch. Highly recommended!

I got carry out from Este Pizza on a rainy week night. Even though there was no one in the restaurant and very few carryouts, I still waited about 50 minutes for my pizzas (2 large) and one salad. The waitstaff is not very attentive and spent a lot of time chatting among themselves behind the front cash registers. I tried the white pizza, which was not very tasty. The lasagna pizza was much better. Salad was delicious--I liked the golden raisins and sunflower seeds. I do not plan to return to this location, except for a slice (which is supposed to be ready immediately). I can see why this place would be good for late night munchies but it's not an appropriate go-to pizza place for a family meal.

Horrible customer service. I placed an order for delivery and they mention there is a $3 charge fee which is acceptable. Then they say "we are kinda busy so it'll be 1.5 hours". Well of course it's been 1 hour and 35 mins later. It's 9:30pm by this time and I had no idea they closed by 9pm. I placed the order at 7:50 pm. What a disappointment! I'm expecting pizza for dinner to feed me and my family. But no food was ever delivered. The only plus side is that when he asked if I wanted to pay with credit card or cash. I said cash.

I've been to the original place a few times early on and couldn't understand the hype. Recently I got re-introduced to Este at their newest location, thanks Ivane, and wow, I'm a fan now. I used to think their crust was soggy and flabby. Not this time, prefectly crisp and full of toppings. I don't know what they did, other than losing the attitude, but I'll be back.
(4)Jenny S.
YUM! I loved this place at it's old location but it is even better at the new location. Same great pizza and more room to enjoy it. I have tried several of the pizzas here and have enjoyed all of them. even just a basic pepperoni and cheese is delicious here. Good beer selection, fun atmosphere....what's there not to love. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
(5)S S.
I love this pizza. It's the best in the city. But seriously, when I call in the middle of the day for a delivery and I'm told that I have to wait an hour because no one else has ordered? and so I have to wait until someone else does before they put in the order? Lame. Seriously lame. I called the one downtown and they are delivering right now. So I recommend that one instead.
(2)Christina V.
Terrible customer service. Ordered a $23 dollar buffalo chicken pie that was COVERED in blue cheese with no discernible hint of chicken or buffalo sauce or red onion. And I LOVE blue cheese, so that should let you know what an exorbitant amount of blue cheese was raping my pie. When I called to politely inform them of the issue, they were nice enough to basically tell me I was full of sh*t: "we only had one buffalo chicken pie go out, and I saw that the kitchen only put a little sprinkle of blue cheese on it". I've been working in restaurants for ten years, and you should never outright tell the customer that they are wrong. And I will fully acknowledge that when working in this industry you end up dealing with customers that are full of sh*t and throw a hissy fit just to get free food. Yes, it's inevitable. But it's a business, just like the whole wide world. If you want customers to return and for your business to flourish, then you should probably be concerned about securing and thanking them for their business. I feel like I got ripped off for a terrible $30 pizza (with tip - and at least the delivery guy was the most pleasant part of this experience), and I will never be returning to a place that doesn't value their customers. One star only because I have to. I wish i could leave negative amounts of stars.

Love the new location. Bigger and more spacious while still maintaining charm. Garlic knots were great and the pizza is the best is SLC. Very friendly and helpful service too. They also have vegan pizza. Try this place if you haven't.

Had a pretty good pie while dining in, although we felt the sauce was really good there just was not enough of it. So fast forward a couple weeks and we order a pizza to go with EXTRA sauce only to again receive hardly any. I don't know what's up but it seems they refuse to put an adequate amount of sauce on their pizzas for whatever reason. I ended up paying $25 for a 16' inch sauce-less pizza which is a bit crazy. I would dine in again but getting it to go is just too risky for it being cold and or sauceless.

I recently made my first trek to New York City. I consumed copious amount of NYStyle pizza on the streets of manhattan. Thin, crispy crust, sweet, thin, tangy sauce. I was hooked at first bite. I have been on the hunt for mamas new drug, and Este pizza comes very close! I will be back to try more and will add to my review.
(4)John D.
Really good calzone and cheese sticks in what looks like a great little pizza place off the main streets. I had to take away a star because their TV doesn't get fox...and its World Series season. Friendly staff, okay parking and clean inside made for a nice dinner out
(4)Casey J.
The grandma phi phis is hands down THE BEST. Also great vegan options and a nice pub area. The best authentic pizza in the city. I come to the salon next door every 4-6 weeks and love ordering take out to share with my favorite stylist.
(4)Tyana R.
One of my favorite pizza places, the atmosphere is laid back, we always get great service and the plain ol' pepperoni pizza is my absolute favorite here. The crust is crispy & thin and the sauce to cheese ratio is spot on. Great beer selection as well! Great chill date night spot :)
(4)Joe R.
Solid pizza, slices are a great deal and the beer selection is solid. New location is a great space with plenty of room for good parties. We've ordered takeout a few times and have always been pleased with the result.
(3)Dustin G.
Best pizza I've had in a long time. We got The Vortman. It had tons of toppings, and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The crust was thin but not too thin, let's put it this way if I were to slap someone with a slice it wouldn't break and crumble like a cracker instead it would have the perfect slap everyone would anticipate. Will I go back? Yes.
(5)Smp P.
People who have had REAL NY style pizza that call this NY style pizza haven't been East of the Mississippi yet? We got the garlic knots and they were ok, nothing to rave about but at least the dipping sauce is good. The pizza dough needs authentic improvement, could have gotten a better Pizza at whole foods! I think the quality of the pizza is OK, probably will not come back but the beer selection - that I have to give a big kudos to!
(2)Ian H.
Definitely some if the best pizza I've ever had. I get takeout here pretty often and it's always amazing!
(4)Suzan C.
Excellent pizza, crayons for kids , beer for adults. Great service, excellent pizza.
(5)Keilian M.
A good place to grab a quick slice before a night out, with some great beers served to pair with. I'd recommend the daily slice of your choosing, paired with a local Uinta Brewery Cutthroat or Baba beer. A really good price on the slice, and never too busy, Este is a good place to bring friends to hang out and enjoy a traditional NY-Style pizza.
(4)Becky G.
Este is the beste! We love this place! The lasagna pizza is our favorite. But you can't go wrong with pizza here, especially if you get dallops of ricotta. Good calzones too. You can skip the garlic knots though.
(4)Sally D.
Best pizza in Salt lake, Service was great we had a party of about 25 people they handled us with ease. Food delivered hot and very tasty. I will definitely go back and would recommend highly!
(5)Abbey A.
Love this place. You can get individual slices which is great for us since we have a meat eater, vegetarian, and picky kid. They also do great vegan pies if you are interested. The Zeppoles are the best. My kid calls them "sugar chicken nuggets" because of their size and shape. They are actually small Italian donuts with cinnamon, sugar, and honey.
(5)Connor L.
In my opinion, this is the best pizza in Salt Lake. I have been coming to Este for years now and wouldn't trade it for a slice anywhere else in the state. It's inexpensive and delicious. The slices are big and filling. It's a great place to meet a friend for lunch. The atmosphere is very indie, and so is the staff. The service is never amazing, but once I take my first bite I couldn't care less about the service.
(5)Katherine T.
Awesome NYC style pizza ( and I used to live in NYC) the signage uses incorrect NYC subway colors but I can get over it because the sauce is full bodied, the crust is thin, and this pizza is rockin.
